But as he got older, Doc and Gaia became more adept at shielding him from the public spotlight, and he also gained a brother (Race) and sister (Zephyr) to absorb some of the public's interest.
Despite his father's scientific background, and his mother's immersion in magic, Rusty took to neither discipline, and was instead focused his attention on sports. If it involved physical prowess, he was into it.
As he grew older, Rusty also developed an active interest in helping children less fortunate than him, and donated countless hours towards mentoring programs. It's the one cause he gladly used his media attention to further.
When Rusty was in his early 20s, the Noble family's publicist arranged for him to meet a rising super-hero sensation named Celeste, who was catching the public's attention through a variety of publicity stunts. Rusty was against such a meeting, but eventually caved, and attended a fund raiser as Celeste's date. Much to his surprise, Rusty and Celeste really hit it off, and soon started dating. Within a year, they were married, amidst public speculation as to whether Celeste was just entering into this marriage for the status it brought her.
Not too long ago, Rusty tried to stop a robotic killing machine from tearing up a major American city, and was nearly killed in the process. Doc was able to place his brain in a robot body, thus saving his life... sort of. While Rusty isn't dead, he often questions whether or not he's truly "alive" either.
Around this time, his younger brother, Race, was killed just after marrying Liz Donnelly. Rusty himself was briefly a suspect, but it was revealed that Icarus, Doc's robotic assistant (and the real murderer), had tampered with Rusty's robotic body. After Icarus' destruction, Doc cleaned up Rusty's faulty programming.
Shortly after this development, Rusty learned that Celeste has been carrying on an affair with his despised brother, Frost. Rusty soon threw her out of the lighthouse, and she countered by filing for divorce.
As Rusty tried to get over his break-up with Celeste, he met Cosmic Rae, a new young heroine with magnetic powers. They hit it off immediately, and began to date. But what Rusty didn't know was that Cosmic Rae was a robot, built by Doc to be Rusty's perfect mate. As Rusty and Cosmic Rae's relationship grew, Doc surprised Rusty with a new gift - a new robotic body that had the outward appearance of a human body. Now Rusty appeared human, but still possessed his robotic strength and durability.
Meanwhile, Frost had learned of Cosmic Rae's secret, and used it as leverage to help him commit a crime that he himself was being forced into. This crime was videotaped by Dawn Blackthorne (then-current lover of Celeste), who sent the incriminating tape to Rusty as a way of driving a wedge between Frost, Rusty, and Celeste. When Rusty saw Frost and Cosmic Rae committing a crime together lost his temper and confronted Cosmic Rae. In the ensuing argument Cosmic Rae was injured and Rusty saw the circuitry under her skin. He dismantled her, and then went on the hunt for the real Cosmic Rae, as he mistakenly believed this robot was an impersonator, not the real thing.
Rusty's quest for the real Cosmic Rae led him into conflict with the Blackthorne family in downtown Crown Pointe. In the fight that followed, a news helicopter was knocked out of the air and its crew died. Rusty was arrested for manslaughter and was held without. During this period, Rusty gave up his human-looking body, and chose to revert back to his original robotic appearance.
While awaiting trial, Rusty hired a private detective to continue the search for Cosmic Rae, but the detective instead uncovered the truth about who built Cosmic Rae, and why. Rusty was soon found "not guilty" and released from prison, after which he confronted Doc. Instead of being mad over Doc's secret machinations, he instead thanked his father for caring so much about him that he'd built Cosmic Rae for him. Rusty was then reunited with a rebuilt Cosmic Rae.
Sometime over the course of the past five years, Rusty gained a new robotic body and a seemingly robotic personality, as well. His relationship with Cosmic Rae also appears to have ended.
KNOWN SUPERHUMAN POWERS:
Rusty was born with superhuman strength, and a high resistance to injury. After his body was essentially destroyed, his brain was placed in a robotic body, which possesses even greater strength than Rusty previously knew.
While Rusty's robotic body is constructed of the most durable metals known to man, in the event that it's damaged, Doc can simply slap on a new body part, and he's as good as new.
Rusty's body also comes equipped with a vast array of sensors allowing him to see across the electromagnetic spectrum, and hear at greatly amplified levels.
Rusty latest upgrades include the ability to fly (via rocket propulsion from his feet), and the ability to discharge electro-magnetic energy from his hands.
SKILLS:
Rusty is a skilled athlete, and he particularly excels at the more physical sports, like boxing, wrestling, and rugby.
